Musician, teacher and « curious » of the sounds universe in all its infinite aspects, Carlo Taffuri graduated in violin at the Conservatory “Guido Cantelli” of Novara (Italy). He attended master classes with international standing violinists, including Mariana Sirbu, Stefan Gheorghiu, Sergei Girshenko and Alessandro Moccia. He plays in Europe, America and Africa with various instrumental ensembles, establishing important artistic collaborations.
He studied orchestra conducting specializing on the preparation of youth orchestras. Since 2003 he is Founder and President of the music association ImmaginArte. In 2004 he is founder and artistic director of the chamber orchestra “I Musici Estensi” which has a concert activity with over 150 concerts in Europe, Africa and America. In Florida he received praise for artistic merit by the Government of the President Bush. Since 2011 he is artistic director of the Orchestre Symphonique du Mont-Blanc (France) and educational director of the Musicfor Italia Onlus (Italy).
His teaching activity is relevant: he earned the qualification of the V level of teaching violin with the Suzuki method at the Italian Suzuki Institute. To complete the formation are added numerous master classes about audiopercettiva, Rolland method and Dalcroze method.
He teaches violin and orchestral practice in the Suzuki school in Varese conducting the youth orchestras “I Piccoli Musici Estensi” and “UKOM” (United Kids of Music) with the will and the spirit to unite children around the world with music trough international musical partnerships (Rome, Milan, Venice, Lugano, UNESCO Paris, London, Sofia and New York). He collaborates with leading international institutions such as Maestro trainer in Paris, London, Oslo, Galway, Vienna, Jerusalem, Istanbul, Miami, New York, Panama City, Toronto, Luanda and Sao Paulo.
Carlo Taffuri is musical director of the PYO (Pasquinelli Young Orchestra) and educational coordinator of experimental sections of Sistema Lombardia and Youth Choirs in Italy, a project strongly backed by Maestro Claudio Abbado. Since 2015 he collaborates with Superar Suisse ( El Sistema- Suisse) as conductor of Lugano Orchestra.
Carlo Taffuri is member of Musicfor International through which devotes much of his musical activity to the support and development of music in disadvantaged areas in the world building music schools, purchasing musical instruments, provisioning scholarships and the realization of chamber and symphonic orchestras.Thousands of children have thus the opportunity to approach music and broaden their perception and their perspective on life.
