“A voice that enters the soul” – Mstislav Rostropovich – so the Maestro said after listening to the voice of Jolanta Stanelyte.
She won many international competitions such as “Min On” in Tokyo (Japan), the “The Howard and Geraldine Polinger Foundation Prize” – Special Award – in Washington (USA), and in Italy the “Flaviano Labò” (Piacenza), “New voices for the lyric” (Pavia), “Cascina Lirica 1993” (Pisa), “International Competition Vincenzo Bellini” (Caltanissetta). In 2003 she received the “Falstaff” prize in Salzburg (Austria) for her interpretation of Verdi’s operas. She has appeared in France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Spain, Japan, the United States, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, performing the main roles of works such as Tosca, Manon Lescau, Trovatore, Aida, Ballo in Maschera, Attila, Cavalleria Rusticana, Turandot, Madama Butterfly, Yolanda by Tchaikovsky. She sang in Italy with artists such as L. Nucci, K. Johansson, G. Cecchele, N. Martinucci, L. Maragliano, A. Masters in concert opera productions at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (Italy), Spoleto Festival (Italy), Arena di Verona and “Verdi celebrations” (Italy).
In 2000 she performed Teresa Stolz in a musical comedy by Kriss Russman on the “Secret Life of Giuseppe Verdi”, under the baton of Riccardo Chailly (MBC, ZDF / ARTE, BBC UK). She appeared in TV programs about opera (RAI and Mediaset) and she is regularly invited as member of the Jury in international singing competitions.
She graduated in cello and singing at the Academy of Music in Vilnius (Lithuania), then moved to Italy to study with Renata Scotto, Maria Luisa Cioni, Luisa Maragliano and Carlo Bergonzi. In 2002 she gets to know Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishneskaya, whom precious teaching she will follow in London and Paris. In 2011 in the Sala della Protomoteca del Campidoglio in Rome (Italy), she received the “Premio Internazionale Cartagine”, important award for artistic merits. In March 2017 he made his debut in an applauded recital at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Jolanta Stanelyte is Musicfor International member artist through which devotes much of his musical activity to the support and development of music in disadvantaged areas in the world building music schools, purchasing musical instruments, provisioning scholarships and the realization of chamber and symphonic orchestras. Thousands of children have thus the opportunity to approach music and broaden their perception and their perspective on life.
