FLORIDA
Musicfor America, the newest arm of the Musicfor International alliance, is pleased to welcome their QuartettOrfeo, based in Rome, for a 2023 summer cultural exchange residency with young musicians in South Florida. Dedicated to the humanitarian use of the arts to improve individual lives and our communities throughout the US and the Americas, this Musicfor project offers cultural exchange instructional residencies with South Florida music camps. Musician members of the QuartettOrfeo have collectively appeared throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.
Partnerships include this internationally acclaimed quartet presenting masterclasses and side-by-side performances while in residence for summer comprehensive music education and performance programs. Participant organizations include Gold Coast Youth Orchestra, and Musicall, a South Florida music conservatory, celebrating its 10th Anniversary, whose Youth Orchestra recently captured First Place in the international Summa Cum Laude Youth Orchestra Competition in Vienna.
Under the leadership of Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, Artistic Director, efforts of the Musicfor alliance focus on the promotion and support of music education programs, performance and outreach, presenting scholarships and musical instruments to deserving students and sharing the magic of live musical presentations. Nearly 1000 musicians and professionals in various parts of the world work together for this common purpose.
QuartettOrfeo performances in worship during the residency include St. Marks Episcopal, Ft. Lauderdale, St Gregory’s Catholic Church, Plantation and Church by the Sea, Bal Harbour.
