When music is expressed with magic in its truest essence...
SUMMERFEST
EDITION 2016
FLORIDA – REPUBLIC OF PANAMA
Musicfor International joins this year the Fort Lauderdale’s Symphony of the Americas in its 25th Anniversary summer music festival: Summerfest. In collaboration with Musicfor International, one month of performances throughout Florida and the Americas from July 9 to August 10. Activities include concerts, master classes, and educational outreach, charity concerts, taking the masterful sounds of this great ensemble to audiences in corners of the world who often have never before experienced the exhilaration of live orchestral performance.
This festival will highlight the “Best of the Best”. The Summerfest Chamber Orchestra will be composed by musicians and soloists who have participated in the festival over the past 25 years, including orchestras such as the Arpeggione Chamber Orchestra (Austria), the Mission Chamber Orchestra (Italy), Hungarian Virtuosi (Hungary) , I Musici Estensi (Italy) and more. Representing more than 10 different countries, all joined in cultural exchange by principal musicians of the Symphony of the Americas, in the performance of several styles of classical and popular music for strings,
Under the baton of Symphony Artistic Director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, orchestral concerts feature the music of Vivaldi, Mozart, Bloch, Fuchs, Piazzolla, a commissioned piece by Italian composer in residence Lorenzo Turchi-Floris , a special arrangement of Latin music by Grammy Award winning Mexican composer Eduardo Magallanes, and more. Musicfor members and other soloists will perform, including the Summerfest’s Concertmaster Orlando Forte (Cuba), violinist Svetlana Forte (Ukraine), Symphony of the Americas principal flutist Marilyn Maingart (USA). The Georgian violinist Sandro Tigishvili will present as soloist an American premiere of a string arrangement of the Concertino by Georgian composer Otar Taktakishvili that the Symphony of the Americas has commissioned to write on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Summerfest.
OUR “MISSION” FOR SUMMERFEST 2016
Summerfest educational events reach over 20.000 students – introducing the masterful sounds of American, European and Latin composers. By prestigious performances at the Broward Center of Florida, at the Teatro Nacional de Panama, the prestigious American Universities and the tough schools of South America where children often listen in disbelief symphonic music for the first time. Here begins our “mission”. Thousands of students take music education programs given by governments, helping children to develop alternative plans to those that would lead them to the streets, to physical and moral poverty.
