UNA PRIMAVERA PER ...
Spring is in itself a moment of rebirth
The decision to link this word to the title of a concert season, is to emphasize the importance of being reborn thanks to music. With « Una Primavera per… » we would like to help several music organizations working in disadvantaged countries.
We wish that our contribution may join in a human and social rebirth process. We believe that Art and Music can interpret anything beyond the limits of our actions.
Since 2008, Musicfor has coordinated the concert series « Una Primavera per… ». It’s an annual event which presents a cycle of six / seven concerts during the spring season. With great enthusiasm, the Italian conservatories of Alessandria, Como, Firenze, Genova, Mantova, Milano, Novara, Potenza, Piacenza, Roma, Salerno, Teramo, Terni, Torino and Trento welcome our initiative by participating in charity concerts with chamber groups and youth orchestras.
Each Festival is dedicated to one specific humanitarian action, chosen by Musicfor International and proposed to the Conservatories who wish to participate. The goals are always linked to musical deeds: construction of music schools, purchase of equipment and giving scholarships. Each edition of « Una Primavera per… » generally has a duration of two – three years.
Since the beginning of the Festival, hundreds of students have taken turns on the stages of the various Conservatories. Thousands of spectators answered the call, helping to reach various achievements: Una Primavera per il Mozambico (Ed. 2009/10/11 – Costruction of a music school in Quelimane – Mozambique), Una Primavera per Haiti (Ed. 2012/13 – Purchase of musical instruments for the Ecole de Musique Sainte Trinité orchestras and giving scholarships to the most deserving students), Una Primavera per l’Angola (Ed. 2014/15 – Dedicated to young Kaposoka Orquestra , purchase of books and organization of the Kaposoka Tour in Italy), and Una Primavera per il Sud Africa (South Africa- Ed- 2016/17/18 – Purchase of instruments, organization of musical courses for the Cape Traditional Singers and Brass Band). From 2019 Una Primavera per la Costa d’Avorio (Ivory Coast – Help to the INSAAC Chamber Orchestra of Abidjan) is hosted in our festival.
